While it is true that African Americans often have a positive outlook on life and view friendship as extremely valuable, it is not fair to assume that they are “more fun” than the rest of us, nor is it fair to assume that they are “less stuck up”. Furthermore, it is not right to assume that their life stories are more interesting than the life stories of other people. In fact, one could argue that life stories are just as interesting, regardless of race or culture. Therefore, it is not reasonable to suggest that we should all strive to “appropriate” some of black culture. Doing so would not only be disrespectful to African Americans, but it would also be a disservice to other cultures and races.

It is true that African Americans often bring a unique perspective to the table, and that there is much to be learned from their culture. However, this does not mean that the rest of us should strive to “appropriate” their culture. Instead, we should strive to learn from their culture in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner. We should also strive to recognize and appreciate the different cultures and perspectives of all people. It is wrong to suggest that we should all strive to appropriate some of black culture.
