You think your writing is poetic, but that's a cop-out
It's lazy and it's weak, not a single doubt
You think that poetry has no purpose or point
But that's a shallow view, you should broaden your joint
Rhyming and rhythm can give clarity to thought
You don't have to be taken in by what you've been taught
Iambic pentameter can make a strong case
And haphazard line breaks can add to the space
Don't sell yourself short, your writing has worth
It's a special gift, you should find out its birth!
