Ahh-hah, the protagonist in my story was clearly not your average tourist! Yes, Saint Martin has much to offer in terms of its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and wide variety of attractions. But at the same time, I think it's important to remember that my story was not about the typical Saint Martin experience—it was a story about one individual's unique journey on a quest for adventure. And what's wrong with a little bit of vice? As long as you do the responsible thing, it can be quite enjoyable!
My protagonist—the gambler, drinker, and marijuana enthusiast—is not the only type of traveler who visits Saint Martin. But he's certainly not an uncommon one, either. Every day, hundreds of people from all over the world come to this Caribbean paradise to partake in a little bit of gambling and drinking; and while I agree that these activities alone don't make Saint Martin what it is today, I'd argue that they form an important part of the island's identity.
Let's face it: whether we like it or not, gambling and drinking are deeply ingrained in the culture of Saint Martin. From the bustling casinos on the Dutch side to the happy hours at local bars and nightclubs—it's impossible to ignore the prevalence of these kinds of activities on the island. So while we should certainly appreciate all that Saint Martin has to offer in terms of its beaches and culture, let's also recognize and accept that when you go to Saint Martin, you're likely to get a little bit naughty.
