It's true that some individuals on both sides of the political spectrum may fit the caricatures of their opponents, but to suggest that all people with different political views fall into these stereotypes is a gross oversimplification. In fact, the majority of people in the voting population are likely to be more moderate in their views and have the capacity to empathize with their opponents. Most people are not "the caricature incarnate" of their political leanings, but rather approach issues and debates with nuance and understanding. It is wrong to claim that everyone is just like you, and that your views and lifestyle are representative of all of those who identify with a particular political side.
