Additionally, the fact that we have only been able to communicate with Koko through sign language does not in any way mean we would be unable to communicate with intelligent aliens. It is entirely possible that other species could have developed complex ways of communication that we have yet to discover. It is also possible that life on other planets could be based on something other than DNA, and that the species on those planets could be quite different from us. Furthermore, it is important to note that we should be striving to learn more about the animals on Earth, but that does not mean that searching for alien life is a pointless endeavor. Understanding the various forms of life in our universe may lead to new discoveries and a greater appreciation of our own planet.
