In response to the retort disagreeing with my original essay, I cannot help but appreciate that they are trying their best to come to the defense of the "cool kids." However, their argument is far too one-dimensional to be taken seriously. While it is true that some of the most famous people in the world have been celebrated for their intelligence and communication skills, it does not take away from the fact that social skills and intelligence are often seen as mutually exclusive.

Furthermore, the idea that social skills and intelligence can be developed in tandem is laughable. It's one thing to recognize that both of these traits lie on a continuum, but to suggest that one can actively work to become both socially adept and intellectually gifted at the same time is ridiculous. It is much more likely that the two qualities are either intertwined or completely separate.

Finally, although it may be UrRong to make a sweeping generalization about those who are socially adept and those who are not, it is important to remember that my original essay had a humorous tone. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously (just like my comical retort). So while my original essay should not be taken as a scientific fact, it still stands true that someone has gotta pick on the cool kids!
