My parents' accent's not a sin,

It's all part of where I've been,

My words are not an awkward jest,

I'm proud of my cultural quest.

It's not like anyone's to blame,

For how I pronounce a name,

My culture's not a thing to laugh,

It's part of my own unique path.

So don't tell me how to speak,

It's not what your words seek,

My accent is just fine,

So don't pretend it's not mine.
