I'm surprised to see people post on social media: “Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!” and “Married my best friend today!” Really? I mean, think about it. Who was your actual best friend ten years ago? Do you, today, wish you had committed, then, to being their best friend for life? I should hope not.

Is there something I’m missing that gives people confidence that who they want to marry today is who they’ll want to be married to at twice their age?
