I see people posting their pronoun preferences, like he, him; she, her, but such pronouns aren’t required linguistically, so let’s ditch ‘em entirely. Some propose using “they/them” or “ze/zir” to dissociate gender from identity. But I say we take it a step further and call everyone it. Because, while we’re dismantling gender as the social construct that it is, we might as well free ourselves from what I believe to be the socially constructed human—non-human/living—non-living distinctions, too.
